These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

As a self-proclaimed wellness enthusiast, I have a few food and non-food items that I always keep in my house. There are a lot of health and wellness speciality items out there and I've had a lot of trial and error trying to determine my favorite items but these are, in my opinion, the best and they're what I always have on hand to make sure I stay Fully Well. 

Vital Farms eggs

I eat A LOT of eggs. Fried, scrambled, hard-boiled, raw. Just kidding on that last one. But for real, I eat so many eggs that I only buy the best quality. These eggs are pasture-raised and absolutely delicious. I catch a lot of flack from friends and family about these eggs because they are rather expensive but I believe they're worth it. Side note: my dad and I recently purchased 8 Isa Brown chickens! They are currently growing very nicely but are still about 2-3 months away from laying. Once they start laying, I will have another egg supplier.

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

I absolutely love this product.  I've been using it for about 4 months now and completely notice a difference in my skin, hair, and nails. Betterbody Coconut Oil

I also use this coconut oil in my coffee! I love the way it tastes and smells. It's organic and has a high smoke point too which is great for cooking. Any high quality coconut oil is good, this is just the brand I've been using for awhile.

Kerrygold Grass-Fed Salted Butter/Homemade Ghee

This is the only butter I use to make ghee (removing the milk solids making it totally Whole30 compliant). I love the taste and texture and I literally cook everything in ghee. Its a great source of high quality fat. This butter is also really great just the way it is!

Terrasoul Superfoods Raw Organic Cashews (Mylk Grade) 

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I do make my own cashew milk at home. I've tried many different types of raw cashews and have found this Terrasoul brand to be one of the bests. 

Ellie's Best Bigger Better Nut Milk Bag

Speaking of making your own cashew milk, Ellie's Nut Milk bag is the only nut bag I use to make my nut milk. It's great for straining the nut milk and it's big enough to hold large quantities at a time. 

Rxbars  

While these used to be a "trigger food" for me during my first round of my Whole30, I now use them only in emergency food situations. I always have one in my purse just in case I get in a pinch. If you haven't tried Rxbars you need to treat yo self and get you some, now. They come in amazingly delicious flavors like Blueberry, Chocolate Sea Salt, Maple Sea Salt and more!

Tessemae's Sauces/Dressings

These are THE best "clean" sauces and dressings I've ever tried. I stumbled upon them while doing my first round of Whole30 and haven't looked back. Most of them are Whole30 compliant, Paleo, and dairy free. If you aren't following one of these diets, these dressings are just good to have on hand if you're trying to watch your ingredient intake. They have also recently come out with a line of dips but I haven't had the opportunity to try them yet.

MEAT 

We are carnivores in my house. We eat meat and it's always the star of the show. I always have meat in my freezer and fridge. I always buy hormone and antibiotic free and I buy grass-fed or pasture-raised when possible. I buy in bulk and then separate into smaller portions when I get home. This makes it easy to pull out a portioned size bag of ground beef for burgers, tacos, or zucchini spaghetti. I usually always have ground beef, chicken thighs or breasts, bacon, and fish in my freezer. 

LaCroix

My sweet, sweet LaCroix. If you haven't had LaCroix, you're missing out. I LOVE it so much I would marry it if I could. There are SO many flavors and it's great if you're desiring that bubbly sensation but have broken up with soda. My favorite flavors are the Cherry Limemade, Orange, and Kiwi Watermelon. 

Kombucha 

I love Kombucha and while I've taken a break from drinking it to tame the bacteria in my gut, I used to drink it on the daily and will go back to drinking it soon. I used to spend hundreds of dollars (not even kidding) on Kombucha from the grocery store. I love GT's Kombucha, Health-Ade, and Brew Dr.'s Kombucha, however, I have started brewing my own Kombucha at home thanks to my cousin Amanda. It's simple, way cheaper, and completely customizable.

While I love food, there are a few non-food essentials I like to keep on hand as well.

Yoga with Adriene

I love yoga. I've been doing yoga in my home for a few years now and Adriene from Yoga with Adriene has really helped me to cultivate my own at home yoga practice. She has her own YouTube channel where she does free yoga videos. She has so many options from yoga for runners, to travel yoga, to yoga for headaches and more. If you're craving a juicy yoga flow straight from your home, throw on some YWA and "find what feels good."

Candles/Incense/Palo Santo 

If you're anything like me, you're all about that ambience. I love a low-light room with burning candles. It totally zens me out and really helps me to relax. Pick up some candles and light up your living room, bedroom, or better yet, run a bath and light all da candles. Incense or Palo Santo is equally as amazing here.

Speaking of baths... 

Epsom salt, bath bombs, etc. 

I'm a big fan of luscious and luxurious baths. Taking a bath is one of my favorite self-care routines. Currently my favorite products are Dr. Teal's Foaming Bath products, Dr. Teal's Epsom Salt Soaks, and anything from Lush (duh.) I light candles, pour myself a glass of Kombucha or LaCroix (in a wine glass, of course), grab a book, and just relax. #treatyoself

Books, books, books! 

I am an avid reader. I abolutely love it. It's one of my favorite things to do and I am always reading multiple books at a time. Currently, I'm re-reading Food Freedom Forever by Melissa Hartwig, The Girl who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson, and The Girls by Emma Cline. Reading is something I cannot live without.
